In recent years, the relationship between serum uric acid levels and the development of cardiovascular pathology in the absence of gout in patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia has been actively discussed. Previous epidemiological studies have demonstrated that hyperuricemia is closely associated with an increased risk of heart failure, arterial hypertension, subclinical atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, and ischemic stroke, particularly in patients with high cardiovascular risk. According to the MONICA/CORA and Rotterdam studies, as well as others, the cardiovascular risk associated with an increase in uric acid level by 1 mg/dL is comparable to an elevation in systolic blood pressure by 10 mmHg or an increase in total cholesterol by 46 mg/dL. The combination of hyperuricemia and coronary artery disease leads to reduced quality of life and contributes to premature disability due to complications. Therefore, further investigation of the pathogenetic and prognostic role of hyperuricemia in coronary artery disease is undoubtedly warranted.
The aim of the study. To determine the relationship between different serum uric acid levels and myocardial functional status, as well as to evaluate the effect of treatment.
